Aquarium Maintenance Overview
Now that you have an aquarium it is vital to keep maintain it regularly so that it stays vibrant and beautiful. With live fish, coral, invertebrates and live rock you need to make sure the chemical balance is just right for their overall health and well-being.
Maintenance Services Include:
- Monthly aquarium cleaning
- Scraping and magnet cleaning of glass
- Clean out skimmer
- Clean sand and rock beds
- Clean outside of glass and stand
- Clean screens or sponges
- Rotate 10-20% of the tank water volume
- Check the health of fish and corals
- Check lighting
- Check aquarium equipment (pumps, screens, floats, etc)
- Test the chemical balance of the water (temperature, salinity, Ph, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, Alkalinity, Calcium and Magnesium levels).
- Remove dead shells and corals
- Adjust calcium reactor and dosing
- Replace sock filter
- Make sure the life in the aquarium is getting the right types of food and chemicals and make any necessary recommendations
